CPU - Intel i5 6500
Ram - 8gb (other 8 is on its way so 16GB)

Power - 750 watt
GPU - MSI 1050ti 6GB

He will be fine running with that, the only real bottleneck he would get is under extremely demanding titles, but yes a CPU upgrade would be nice especially for more of a premium board

To be completely fair, a lot of the newer titles out there are demanding. Take the new RE7 for example.


@OP, take a look at upgrading your CPU first. There are deals on Newegg for both i5's and i7's. After that, I'm a nvidia homer, so I'd take a look at a 1070.

This is ridiculous. An i3 and GTX 1050Ti is a budget system. It's also fairly new. If you had the budget for a high end system, why buy entry level components to upgrade so drastically shortly after? A GTX 1070 would make more sense than a 980Ti, however they're both ridiculous for 1080p. The monitor and PSU you are using are the most important details we need, neither of which we have. What is your current PSU, not the wattage, the make and model. What monitor are you using?

Also an i3 absolutely will not bottleneck an RX 480. The i3 would be fine paired with a GTX 1070 but will start to become a bottleneck, that doesn't mean you need a CPU upgrade though since an i3+1070 will still out-perform an i3+480 or even an i5+480. Again though, GTX 1070 would be a waste for anything less than 1440p.

I am going with the strix gtx 1070 I'm upgrading my power and CPU all at the same time. I asked about graphics card not a tear apart of my CPU... my new psu is a 750 and new CPU is an i5 6500

We only advised about your CPU mate, just trying to help and save you a few £££.

Also, consider getting another card (if you can find it used/cheap) and running them in SLI. Just a thought.
