Mitochondria wrote'Most' routers- given the reason I asked said questions. WAP would be useless in this circumstance. He has black zones- running messy Cat5/6 cables throughout a house would be useless and unnecessary. Main wall booster sockets would work best, much cheaper, easy to setup and is by far the tidiest.AD4M wrote Whos your ISP with? What Down/Upload speeds you currently getting in a room with good connectivity?

Speeds don't matter much, nor does ISP most routers are compatible with pass-through nowadays. He should be fine just get some separate colored ethernet cables it makes it more tidy, and easy to remember what goes to what.
The reason I asked about his ISP is because some ISP sell their own brands of wall inlets. However, Virgin use Netgear powerlines; which I will happily link- [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Nah it's fine I'm quiet a geek myself. Was unsure on what to get as I didn't want to spend too much but I'm sure on what I'm getting now. I'm going to get 1 of them first and see if that makes a drastic change (it should) and if not I will get 1 or 2 more (to get all upstairs rooms the best wifi possible).

I will haha I mean me and my father (he handles my contract with them) have been with them (well he has) since Virgin Media launched. So we do get our perks, such as paying £30 pcm for everything (all channels, best fibe-optic they have available, inland and out calls from landline)
So yeh it ain't that bad if I need to call them ;P
