I know people who have, but I've never done it personally. One thing I can tell you is, you know when you see the cars with the bubbles in the tint? That is an easy way to tell it was done unprofessionally / not with the right tools and materials.

$85 isn't bad, I went to a few places and they quoted me about $100,

Not sure how it is where you are but in US at least where i am it's about $150 for tints, it all depends on the car. you might be able to do it yourself but it won't be easy depending on size of windows/car.

I drive a 06 civic and it's a 2 door and I think it's worth it just to pay to have it done because that stuff is difficult especially if you are doing it yourself making the correct measurements and lining it up right. One small mistake and you have to restart or you have a bubble in your tint that won't come out or rips the tint trying to remove it. The entire back is a bitch if you don't have 4 doors

I'd rather pay that little bit extra for a tint with no bubbles.

Ok, thanks for the replies. It's only around £15 for the tools (not including a heat gun as I already have one) so i'm thinking for buying 1 sheet of tint and the tools and practice. If i'm good enough I could even start my own little business.

I'm going to have a go at it first and if it's not for me i'm gonna pay for it.

Decided that I will get a couple of windows from scrap cars and practice on them, and if it doesn't look good or there are bubbles i'll just pay for the service for my own car.

That's a good idea to be honest, if you mess it up, well at least you tried.
