I brought the game about 2 month and ago and it's the game I've been playing everyday since, i would say it's worth the money and a whole lot of fun to play and once you hit lvl 30 there are a various of things to do to keep you actively playing

There's a new update, it would be good in my opinion to start hit level 30 get some gear for new update, there's many of people who'll help you get the gear you need, I think it's worth it.

I hopped back on after not playing for months and to my surprise it was pretty fun still.

Lot of new things came from updates and you don't need the DLC to be good at the game.
I still enjoy it so I'd say it's worth it.

There is survival DLC and Underground DLC currently out. Survival is basically you and some friends/yourself against other players, AI, and infection fighting for an extraction and a victory against all odds. A bunch of fun.

Underground is basically waves of increasingly hard AI to fight off and slight variations on missions to do solo or with friends. Basically just a new setting to the game, but still a lot of fun.

Then there is about to be a new DLC that we don't really know much about called "last stand" I think having the season pass to the game is for sure worth it, but that could just me.

As for the base game being worth the money, I still think that it is. I have a ton of fun playing the game and when update 1.6 comes out and the new content drops, I'll be having even more fun.
