No, motherboard and RAM upgrade would be a waste of money. If you're upgrading motherboard and RAM, you may as well upgrade to DDR4 and a new socket, which would mean you'd need a new CPU as well. 4790k is still a more than capable chip though. If anything, a Ryzen or X299 upgrade could make sense, but they're not out yet. Other than that, do not upgrade to another Intel chip until we have 6 core options on the mainstream from them.

If i was to upgrade my motherboard it would be for the purpose of DDR4, but i suppose ur right, there isn't a point of upgrading until i';m in need of a new CPU which won;t be for another 3 Years or so i would say. Thanks for the tip anyways.

There's definitely no need to upgrade from a 4790k for the foreseeable future, I'll be holding on to mine for a while. The 4790k isn't going to be holding you back at all. Potentially an upgrade to an enthusiast platform or CPU would be at least somewhat logical, but in that case, wait for X299 or Ryzen.

Yeah totally agree, i haven't even OC my 4790k yet. Running it on a Kraken X61 Atm, so i should be perfectly fine when it comes around anyways. What would you suggest OC it to? Also what program to use? Or would you use the BIOS?

You use the BIOS to OC. I can't suggest anything to OC to because it'll depend on the silicon lottery. Just push up the clock speed and increase voltage as necessary until you reach your limit. The X61 isn't going to hold you back though. I can run at 4.9GHz with my 4790k and X61, but it started getting a little warm for my liking at that speed so I run at a constant 4.7GHz. I can't imagine you'll have any trouble OCing to 4.5-4.7GHz unless you're really unlucky.
