Added an extra case fan to give extra air for the graphics card. The case has a fan hub so the 2 included plus the extra case fan, and the cpu fan will go on it as well. Just make sure you plug in the connector from the hub to the cpu header as well as making sure you have a free sata cable you can run to the hub.

I decided to upgrade the PSU and put my G1 Gaming GPU in the list - only upgraded the PSU because it's $10 more for an extra 100W and if I were to SLI I just wanna be extra save with the PSU. This is exactly what I'm looking at for the moment - seems like a solid rig.

NOW, if I wanted to upgrade to an i7, 16GB RAM, and that 525GB SSD, would this build be fine? If I wanted to upgrade my CPU, RAM, and SSD would these three components work perfectly fine?

I know i5 is great for most games and only a select few titles benefit from i7, I know that 8GB is more than enough for most games, and the SSD is just whatever - but would those three parts be compatible upgrades in the future if I wanted to do so? OR should I get a better motherboard & CPU fan to help support the better parts?

650W PSU is fine for SLI 1070s. Get the 750W unit if you want but it's not necessary. You're not even going to be pulling 500W with 2x1070s and an i7. If you wanted to upgrade to an i7 later, any LGA1151 i7 will be compatible, so yes the 6700k is compatible with the motherboard. PCPP tells you this anyway so if you decide to upgrade in the future just edit the parts list of your parts to change the CPU to an i7, it will only show compatible CPU and will tell you if there's any issues/incompatibilities. i7-6700, 7700, 6700k, and 7700k are all compatible. I'd buy the i5-7500 for now though, and ask SuperBiiz to update the motherboard BIOS when you purchase it. No, that RAM would be ridiculous because it's stupidly priced. 16GB RAM right now can be still be had for less than $100. Any more than $100/105 is too much. Also, it would be stupid to replace your 8GB stick with a whole new pair of 8GB sticks, just buy the 1x8GB for now and if you want more RAM in the future, just buy another of the same 1x8GB and add it. If you're getting the larger SSD now, sure get the 525GB MX300 but it's not a logical upgrade unless you use up all of the 240GB SSD and want to add more SSD storage, but just ask here or something when that happens because there could well be new SSDs out or prices might change drastically.

Sorry for the late reply, just got back home but all of that sounds like music to my ears! I didn't know you could just add another of the same RAM - too easy! I don't think I'l overload my SSD - I have a bit of OCD when it comes to downloaded games - I uninstall any games/delete things I know I won't use anymore/for a long time. I generally only play a few select titles so other than my OS and a few of my favorite games I don't think I'll have many downloads of anything other than mandatory files in my storage. And the PSU I assume will just last a very long time - I'll probably never start a PC from scratch again - I would much rather just upgrade this PC when the time comes, if I can buy a 750w PSU that I know will last me a very very long time for an extra $10 I'm down!

So, how does getting Windows 10 work? I really don't want to drop $120 for it.. And I know you can get the free upgrade to Windows 10 with Assist.Services but Windows 7/8/8.1 are all just as expensive as 10.

So if I weren't to go with the Retail route and go for a shady OEM key, could I go from an OEM key and use the free upgrade from the Assist.Services method?

I would really like a Retail key but beggars can't be choosers right?

Side note, here are some monitors I'm considering.

1080p: ACER GN246HL or the more expensive option ASUS VG248QE

1440p: QNIX QX2710 or an ACER G257HU OR the most expensive and quite frankly the best quality option, a DELL S2716DG (24", the 27" has some bugs and problems I've heard)

Do not buy a 1080p monitor for the GTX 1070. Get the QX2710 if you're buying a cheaper monitor. It's a great choice for the price. The S2417DG would be nice for 165Hz and G-Sync, but it's like twice the price of a QX2710. If you're fine spending that much, it would be a good monitor though.

How do you get it for free?

Yeah the Dell is the best value/performance I can find after about an hour of looking around for real 1440p gaming monitors but the price is extremely cheap - I think I'm going to go with the: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] and if I can find a mouse/keyboard combo for like $150 then it will be up to the monitor.

The Dell is extremely steep.. I was thinking 1080p 144hz gaming for now and then getting a 1440p 144hz when they get cheaper down the line? $400 for a monitor would bring this entire project to $1,700-1,800 which is kinda crazy. They have really cheap 1440p 60hz monitors.

Could you justify spending an extra $200 for +144hz? I think the 1080p 144hz monitor would be a better value than a 1440p 60hz monitor but I truly don't know - what're you thoughts?

The QX2710 is the best value since it's like $200. The Dell monitor is better, because it has G-Sync but that's really the only big benefit over the QX2710 since you'll be able to OC the QX2710 to 100-120Hz pretty easily most likely. You could quite easily cut the cost down by getting an i5 instead of the 6700k. I very much doubt you'll need an i7.

Don't get a 1080p 144Hz monitor, as I said. The QX2710 is the same price, but it's a significantly better monitor.
