Don't get a Volkswagen!

Why not get a VW? I had an '04 Polo 1.4 and never had any issues with it.

VW's are recommended by a lot of people as a first car for beginner drivers.

They break down all the time or have problems.

My sister has worked in loads of dealerships from VW, Jaguar, Audi and Hyundai (probably more but idk) she said that VW are the worse cars to go for. She had so many customers come in everyday for problems compared to the other dealerships. The technicians there also agreed they're the worst as well.

I disagree completely, my Polo never had issues and neither has any of my friends or family that have owned Polo's & Golfs.

I stand by my statement that VWs are probably one of the best starter vehicles.

That's fine everyone has their opinions. You may have loads of people that say they're good but I've had loads saying they're bad and even VW technicians say they're the worst cars well..

A crappy Peugeot 206. Saving up for a Honda Civic or another car if I change my mind.

My mate passed his test last March roughly, he got an 06 plate Suzuki Swift, 1.39 engine i think, really cheap to ensure, something like 1200 roughly, also he is an apprentice so has low wages, affordable cars.

Also, older model Vauxhall astras, corsas etc, and older Ford fiesta models, can be cheap, and they are very reliable cars.

Not sure if this will apply to you, but if I get good grade our insurance company literally chops my insurance down. So I would definitely aim for that! It helps alot ask your insurance provider.
