Planning on buying a tablet for my girlfriends birthday in the next few days but honestly don't know the first thing about them. Can anyone suggest a good model that isn't too high in price? Trying to stay below $200 if possible, not looking for an iPad, I'm aware there much more money.
Sorry if this is the wrong section but I didn't see a prefix that would relate to this under technology.

I've got two tablets.

I have an iPad 4 and a Galaxy Tab E.

The Tab E is good budget tablet, good processing speeds, but has a terrible screen resolution. It's limited to 720p, but I think you only really notice it if you switch from a iPad retina display. :p

But yes, look into the galaxy tablets.

You could look into a Nexus 9 as well. Still gets updates and it a pretty solid tablet. One of my favorites.

Despite Apple products being more expensive, Myself personally thinks that an iPad is the best option.
