As the title says, I'm leaving for Air Force basic training on the 13th. I'll be heading to Lakeland AFB in Texas. I'm pretty nervous and I was wanting to see if anyone else is leaving around the same time I am or is already in the military. Any advice or tips you could give is always great! My MOS is 2A7X1 Aircraft Metals Tech which is like fabricating/welding for aircrafts. It's wasn't my first choice (7th) but it is what it is and its a good field to learn, I signed for 4 years so if I don't like it I'll probably switch. I plan on making it a career and shooting for 20 plus years of service. If you were in, how was your experience in?

I don't know anything about the Air Force except for the fact that Basic should be a walk in the park. Like, that's probably literally all it is.
I can give you a few tips based off the Infantry OSUT I went through at Benning.
Be where you need to be, earlier than you need to be there.
If you need to be formed up in the morning at 0500 you better be there at least 10 minutes early. If one person is late, the whole company is getting smoked until and you show up.
Don't give up. It's all do-able. Especially in the Air Force. When you're rucking, or running, or whatever and you feel your little heart hurting, just make sure your sack is still there, and keep pushing.
Dont be a lil b*tch. If you fall out of a ruck or run and or are being weak, the others will hate you. Don't be the one to get your platoon smoked.
