Honestly man I always tell people don't do something you don't like ,,, yes the money is good but your health is also very important as well . I'm not saying just quit your job but maybe talk to your manager about the situation .

Your health and well being isn't worth any kind of money. I used to sit at a computer 16+ hours a day when I was busting ass schooling. I went from having perfect vision to now being legally blind, Some people can stare at a computer all day and some can't. I did and I really wish I didn't.

Is it the company's ergonomics? Poor lighting, cheap monitors, too close to monitor?

No money can substitute your health and well being but you don't want to be unemployed either Try and line a job up in another sector before stepping away from your current position.

Not sure if you've taken this in to consideration or not but a few week ago I noticed I was starting to get really bad migraines, similar to you.

Turns out one eye was working harder than the other when staring at electronics.

When I'm on the laptop for a long period of time I wear glasses and this stopped these migraines.

Might be worth taking yourself to the opticians mate.

I have no idea what my choices are but I don't know how long I can take. Well it'll be an end to my IT industry job because I can't cope with it. I'll probably look into fabricating or mechanics.

If you suffer with migraines you might not be able to work on machines.

The only person who should decide is you. If you do leave do you have a plan or somewhere else in mind? Its good to have a plan of action.

Have you tried a program called [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ? Helps eliminate the blue light from your pc monitor, so it feels less straining on your eyes. I use it if I need to stay up later to finish something or even just watching a movie. Makes it easier to sleep afterwards and the light isn't so "jolting" if you catch my meaning.

Also maybe consider some special glasses, actually considered anti-glare treatment, anti-reflective (AR) coatings eliminate reflections of light from the front and back surfaces of your lenses that can cause eye strain, which might be a factor leading to the migraines.

And if cannabis is legal in your state, try some CBD. Really helped me with my anxiety and migraines, I get them in pill form (10mg a day). It sounds like yours are more serious than mine though.
Im just saying maybe there are some things you can be doing to help combat this ailment before deciding on a change of employment.

If you aren't happy in your job then it is time to look elsewhere, but sometimes you can't be too picky

I would start looking for another job that is better for you and your health and try and stay there if possible until you think you can secure another job.

If you leave straight away without anything to fall back on you may end up being stuck unemployed for a while (This happened to me and its not nice having no money lol)

just try and find something and just ring in sick to work if you get an interview and see how it goes
