What on earth is going on with AUS prices.

Astraabot wrote Thanks for your comment, you seem to know more then just wanting to negatively criticise me.

I apologise If it came across that way but I was not negatively criticising you, I was just shocked at the price for what you're getting, that's insane

I also apologise for wrongly accusing you in that case. Australian prices on most things are well and truely messed up. We've grown to accept it unfortunately, we have no choice but to.

OP, this is what I'd get;

RX 480 will be fine for less demanding games at 4k and you can turn the resolution down if you're playing more demanding games. Unfortunately Aus pricing is ridiculous so stepping up to a GTX 1070 is like twice the price, and that's just a rip off.

Very much the reason I went with the 1060, and they all wanted me to get a 1080 cause it would be OP as hell. Too much of a price increase for what it is really..

Thank you very much for you help, it is much appreciated.

Yeah, definitely don't get a 1080, they're ridiculously overpriced. Take the RX 480 over the GTX 1060. The 480 will perform better in most situations and you have the option to add a 2nd in the future if you want/need. Plus the 4k monitor has Freesync support.
