So me and my friend were playing games online, and I decided to record it. I captured my friends audio with the screen capture, and my audio separately with audacity. When lining up the clips in post, the audio starts out fine, but by the end of the session, which lasted about an hour and a half, my audio is out of sync by a few seconds. I was wondering what caused this (I am assuming it is the slight delay from Skype) and if there are any possible solutions. Thanks in advance!

I assume the video and sound files are both separate as they were not recorded together. This obviously creates 2 layers in your editing software (video and audio)
Are you cutting the video layer for any reason (may be shortening a clip or whatever) but not cutting the audio layer with it?

No, I did not cut anything in any way, and I have 2 audio layers and one video track- the game capture, the game sound and my friends voices in one audio track, and my voice its own audio track. The only track that is off by the end is my audio

you're going to get mic delay, you have to change that up a little bit.

IHitMyMark wroteUse discord to lower the latency between you two. Your recording on skype will be slower then your true recording after a while. with discord at least you can cut some of that down.Mitochondria wrote you're going to get mic delay, you have to change that up a little bit.
