So i've been window shopping for a while now pretty much around Apple and Samsung only because they are apparently the best thing to get.
Any Recommendations would be great, or you can just rant about how good or bad either if the brands are. Either way it helps me
Thanks.

I've always chose apple over Samsung because personally I prefer the phones, they seem more appealing to me but it's just personal preference in my opinion. I've had my IPhone for over 2 years now and it's been great, no issues so far other than the memory but you can easily buy a new storage card. So it's not that big of an issue, overall the phones are great and serve their purpose really well. The next phone I get will definitely be another IPhone, although I'm interested to see what people say about Samsung phones too.

I'm probably in the same boat, i've had apple since iPhone 4 because of how simplistic the phone is (That's why i like it) But just wanted to know what everyone's else thinks so i know for sure what to buy

Android and iOS are marketed to 2 very different user groups. Apple is aimed around ease of use and integration with other apple products, while android based devices are marketed with a lot more (features) and much more user control and customization abilities.
Specs wise, the iPhone 7 is the fastest overall smartphone currently available. If speed is a big thing for you, the choice should be obvious. Though apples A10 processor contains less cores operating at a lower frequency, the optimization and hardware integration is exponentially better than any android based hardware available. Do not just look at the on-paper specs. Look up some actual benchmarks and speed test videos.
All in all, based on your post and your replies so far, it sounds like you should be getting an iPhone.

Apple for simplicity and a shitty security schematic, Samsung for androids optimization and customization abilities/better wide view camera and battery.

That is incorrect, iOS as a platform is much more secure due to the fact that root access is not possible (without jailbreak) and the majority of the operating system is closed source. There is also the fact that 97% of all mobile malware is written for Android (Sources: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] , [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] )

iOS also locks you out if you can't remember your password or recovery, and half the time support, and or the stores can't do anything.
What part of my post did you skip over where i said for optimization? The fact that there are more exploits written for iOS and publicly used at events defcon for example last year and two years ago only iOS was mainly targeted.
Why talk about open and closed source? Name two advantages that an everyday semi advanced user would get from being closed? "shitty security schematic" that gets broken every week.
Let's take a look at something from a better standpoint since you want to talk about it. Compatibility, this is a must for some and for others not. Personally i don't feel like paying over $120 for something to watch TV on, that i could pay $35 for a microboard and install android or a linux, based media player for free and still have full access to a desktop like environment if need be? Now lets get to the actual part where i talk about compatibility, you can't just flash a new iOS on an old device and have it running smoothly can you? Look at the RAZR M, one of the more popular at the time of released up until 2015 android phones. It can run anything from 2.~ - 7.1 if you flash it properly. Where as with iOS you can't even flash, let alone change OS's downgrade, ETC.
Why start an argument over an opinion that someone asked for? There was no reason for this.

No arguments here, this is all subjective to the end user, but to further emphasize:
1.) The whole point of the phone locking you out through iCloud is to deter theft. Whether this "feature" is to invasive or not comes down to user opinion. I personally think this is a great feature, as thieves deserve nothing.
2.) You stated "Name two advantages that an everyday semi advanced user would get from being closed source". First off, there are not a lot of people who would classify themselves as "advanced" and have a desire to have root access to their device. Just because you or myself are advanced and enjoy tinkering does not mean everybody else does.
3.) You stated "Look at the RAZR M, one of the more popular at the time of released up until 2015 android phones. It can run anything from 2.~ - 7.1 if you flash it properly. Where as with iOS you can't even flash, let alone change OS's downgrade, ETC." Again, the user base that wants to flash CFW and recoveries is exponentially smaller than the average user base. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 running a custom recovery and flashed stock android 7.0 AOSP. The process isn't exactly basic, and can be messed up for somebody with little to no experience.
This is my final post on this topic, so to summarize TL;DR: The average user does not want to dive deep into flashing custom recoveries/boot loaders or custom builds. These are all great tools and are fun to experiment with if you are a tinkerer. The average consumer (which is what people most are, including the OP) will decide on a smartphone based on features, battery life, and performance of the device.

Really depends on how you use your phone. All I really care about is a easy to use music system and Apple Music is well worth the 8$ a month.
I also wanted something that is simply to use with nice security.
I would agree if you were a more advance user the droid might suit you better.
