Rigged wroteMrWednesday wrote Regardless of what caused the explosion a lot of the deaths will probably turn out to be attributable to trampling.
21,000 people all scrambling out of a stadium. It's like what happens when there is a nightclub fire. Many of the deaths aren't down to fire or smoke inhalation, but people being crushed to death under the feet of others trying to escape.
I don't think this was a balloon, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was the speakers, they are usually huge and a technical fault causing an overload in one would probably cause an overload in another. One on each side of the stage, facing the crowd, two explosions for two speakers.
I just think we should wait before attributing this to ISIS or another terrorist group.
If their goal is to spread fear then they'd love to see that any time a random explosion happens their influence is being expanded simply because they are now associated with explosions.
2 Nail bombs were detonated at the exits as people were leaving.
You say that like it's a certainty.
Like the woman saying that a nail bomb was detonated centimeters in front of her.
If it was centimeters in front of her she would be filled with nails.
I don't trust eye witness testimony when it comes to stuff like this.
I'll trust the official police statement whenever they reveal the cause and I'd suggest everyone else does too.

Really? No.
Obviously something has happened. Obviously people are dead.
You are all assuming that it is terrorism without knowing anything for certain.
You say I'm as sick as the people who did this.
Tell me, who did this? You seem to have so much more information than even the police do at this point.

We aren't assuming it's terrorist, maybe Rigged is but you coming in here and just saying Ha you're all wrong, the police will be right is just twisted, go somewhere else if you're just going to be negative on something already negative.

Are you actually being serious?
"You're as sick as the people who did this" That's definitely not assuming that this was terrorism, how stupid of me.
I wasn't saying 'ha you're all wrong' I was saying that we don't want to give terrorists publicity and recognition and spread fear FOR them for something they might not have even done.
So yes, wait for the official police report before you throw blame around like you're certain of what happened.

Oldham council denied this.

MrWednesday wroteStill not assuming or even implying I think it's terrorist, I said 'the people' not terrorists. Plus how can you come in here and get mad at people trying to spread awareness of the tragedy that just happened, I mean someones mom and sister could be injured for all we know right now, you're making it seem as if we favor terrorists or something.TTG_Pineapples wrote We aren't assuming it's terrorist, maybe Rigged is but you coming in here and just saying Ha you're all wrong, the police will be right is just twisted, go somewhere else if you're just going to be negative on something already negative.

I can't tell if you're deliberately trying to misrepresent what I'm saying or if you're just doing it accidentally, but it's not going to work because people can just go and read what I have actually said.
There is a big difference between getting mad at people trying to spread awareness and mentioning that I don't think it's a good idea for people to unintentionally spread fear for terrorist groups. Unintentionally is the important word there.
Someone having an injured relative has nothing to do with this being a terrorist incident or a tragic accident, so don't try to play the bleeding heart card.
And if you want to play the semantics game of "the people" vs "the terrorists" then that's fine, because whenever anybody hears about explosions, caused by people, going off in a crowded public place they don't think, "stupid kids playing with firecrackers in the wrong place" they think terrorists, and you're going to have to work very hard to convince people that you're the exception to that.
I'm just gonna stop.
Great idea, because here's a response to your bleeding heart point.
I mean someones mom and sister could be injured for all we know right now
Imagine you're a father. Your daughter was at the concert tonight and you got a phone call letting you know that she was fine and on her way to Oldham Hospital to have some tests done.
The next thing you know, you go on Facebook, Reddit, Twitter, etc. and see this little piece of information: "Oldham hospital is on lockdown because of gunshots"
Imagine the sheer terror that would overcome your entire body, only to scroll down to the comments and see this:
That's a great idea Oldham Council. Official sources of information are the best sources of information.
That is literally the only point I am making here.
