So i finished up my door work on my Jeep last week. I got ballistic panels for it.

I now need a new horn, I have looked into this but curious how it would install and where they would mount.

Anyone got an idea, i'm sure 002 does so inform me on how to go about this.

Hornblaster quality to me isn't up to par if you live in an area where they salt the roads.

Next off is the size of the tank. You would be surprised how much air the horns actually use, my buddy runs dual 5 gallon tanks for his horn set up and he can drain then in like 20 seconds.

For wiring them, it all depends on how you want it to come on. Do you want it to come on with the regular horn, or with a button / switch? Start with however you want it to engage. You will have a wire going from your switch to the horn as well as a power source. Now from the air tank you have a wire going to the compressor on / off switch, and from there you have a wire going to the horn button and a fuse. Then you should have a second wire going from the tank to a relay. From that relay you will have a ground wire, a wire that goes to compressor, and a wire that goes to a fuse and off that fuse comes a ground wire (one will also come off the compressor).

From there your horns should work.

I would want to connect it to a switch, i don't want to cancel out my current horn.

Where would the compressor have to be located though?

Wherever it fits lol. If it fits under the truck that could be a good place, if it can fit in a body panel of the Jeep that's a really good place, etc. etc. The only thing I'm not really sure about is if it matters at all is the compressor is higher or lower than the tank. I wouldn't think it matters because it's all compressed air but it might be something to look into. Also to save space you could go to home depot and buy the compressor and tank that is 1 unit instead of 2 units.

Just remember if you put it under your vehicle (horns, compressor, and tank all included in this), make sure they can handle it. Water and steel don't really mix all that well so make sure it's E-coated, powder coated, etc. Also with all your fittings, do not use steel fittings. Make sure you use brass fittings.

Just something to think about too, it may be worth buying a T fitting to come off the tank and keeping an air hose in your Jeep. You already have the compressor and tank so you may as well use it for on board air too if you get a flat tire or want to run air tools.

I saw pictures of people wiring it to their trunk, not sure if that's possible. I have plenty of room under my Jeep, it has a decent size lift on it but i'd rather place it else where, I also saw another one where they had the compressor under their seat but i am not sure i feel that one
