What happened to YouTube??

What happened to all the gaming content and all the "quality videos"? Why is it full of vine compilations and kids playing with fidget spinners? Why is that good content creators are not deserving the views and subscribers?

I just hate the fact the YouTube algorithm makes it difficult for people to upload their content out there. It's like I want to upload a video, but it became so hard to get at least one view even if it's good content or something entertaining.

I'm just upset that more and more YouTubers try to ride on the trends like fidget spinners or "GTA 6 RELEASED???" type of stuff. They try to milk the heck out of those trends just to get as much views as possible.

I just miss the old YouTube.

What are your thoughts about YouTube nowadays?

It's literally become a job for those who are pretty stupid and this is there last resort. I remember YouTube actually used to be entertaining and it wasn't flooded with stupid, money milking videos and a crap ton adverts as well. I miss the old youtube that was from 2007-2011 those were the good days.

Yes Google found it as something they could milk money out of for sure. The YouTube community has changed for the worst and original creators who actually put time and effort into their content don't get recognised anymore.

I'm not sure what everyone is getting on about, yeah you got those vine comps/fidget spinners, but those are just those youtubers. the ones i watch don't do that.

And if you don't want to see fidget spinners/vine comps in your recommended, don't click videos on the subject, plus you can block certain channels from showing up in your recommended.

I personally never seen a fidget spinner video in my recommend, because i never looked it up.

You see, it never changes for a viewer. You still get to see your subscriptions. But as for a YouTuber, things are different. It's a lot harder for them to upload content without YouTube saying it's not family friendly. Or we can't even upload a video because someone has ruined that genre or completely milked the trend.

Well YouTube certainly try to make it harder for good content creators to show their videos in public. I remember when people with a small youtube channel could get views by responding to a popular video.

Also, back then, the comment section wasn't as cancerous as today.

When they added google plus to YouTube, that's when things went downhill for YouTubers.

Yeah i can understand, but we're talking from a viewers perspective when it comes to videos, we can easily skip over and block videos we don't want to see.

as for youtubers, its very hard to get started now that everything is settled, and this "family friendly" thing that's going around. i slip up and cuss a lot on accident, i would never be able to make it as a youtuber, plus when i make videos its usually for memories and not for views when i did do it, when i was trickshotter as a kid.

One thing that's annoyed me is that good content creators have opened patreons because they need the money to get by. That doesn't annoy me but if I had to give 2-3 dollars to every youtuber I watched I would be paying like 200 dollars a month just to support youtubers which is just dumb.

Youtubers should have known that it wasn't a stable job to begin with. A lot of youtubers will have something on the side i.e investments or a good education

For youtubers who risked it all for youtube are just **** though
