Hey all! It's Daedric, haven't posted here in ages. I hope all my old friends remember me because I am here with a big milestone. Many of you reading this will not know who I am, but I will explain my life briefly. I am on the Autism spectrum and have struggled with bullying and such for most of my life. However, halfway through sophomore year I transferred high schools to a very high end magnet public school with a single digit acceptance rate.

This school changed my life because not only was I surrounded by great teachers who wanted to teach and bring more to the classroom, but also by motivated students. I found myself on the debate team, robotics, and helped renovate the engineering room, which now has three 3D printers, a laser cutter, CNC Router, and so much more. I had many great experiences at this school. However, I only had a 3.6 GPA in high school and I took the SAT and ACT last minute because I did not think I could go to college. I was declined from USC in 2016.

However, USC offered me a spot in their Trojan Transfer Plan because they saw the rise in my grades and extracurricular work, as well as my essay and supplementary essays. I completed my first year of college at Penn State University and on May 12th I received my acceptance letter in the mail. A week or two later I also received my financial aid package, which included a $40,761 university grant. For those who are close to me and know me, you will understand how far I have come. I am someone on the spectrum who can say they were accepted to one of the top universities in America. I have been meaning to make this post for quite some time now, however I have been preoccupied with catching up with good friends. I cannot believe it was nearly a year ago when I gave one of the graduation speeches for my class. Nor can I believe I am 2 months away from moving from Philadelphia to Los Angeles. It has been a long road, and I still have a long way to go.

Also, 6 year member. I was not on to make the post way back when. Pretty soon I will hit 7! I can't believe it was 6 years ago when we had less than 300k members. It was great to be here when we hit 500k, 1 million, and so on.
