So this morning I picked up my 'new' golf.
It's had one previous owner but has only 3000 miles on the clock.
I'm not a car geek so I don't know much about the technical specifications of the car apart from it's a 2.0 tsi 6 speed model.
Every car I have had since I was 17 has been a golf but this is my first GTI. My previous MK5 1.4L TDI was written off after a lorry driver who was on his phone rear ended me at traffic lights. The payout from my insurance company was enough to buy this beauty with cash.
I've been on a few test drives around the country roads this afternoon and I can say its honestly a beast of a car. It has differential lock which makes cornering an absolute dream.
The insurance money also had cash left over to allow me to buy a personalised numberplate.
What do you guys think? Smart choice in car, or was I a little impulsive? I'm very happy though.

I was very close to switching from VW to Audi. I was looking at the S1 but it was very hard to find one that wasn't bright yellow.

Yeah Audi are part of the VW group. I think the A3 is their answer to the Golf. They possess a lot of similarities body wise and interior gadgets (dashboard, satnav, speedometer etc)

You can get a mk5/6 GTI relatively cheaply now. As I said I'm not a geek for cars so was originally just needed one to get me from point A to B. But my insurance pay-out was a lot more than expected so I bought the newest GTI just as a treat for myself.
