In theory, you'd think that there would be more performance gains but there wouldn't
Since Xfire doesn't give you full performance of 2 cards and the issues that come with having XFire in the first place. This is a bad deal.
When I xfired my 290X's, I had nothing but nightmares. Drivers crashing left right and center, heat output was unreal, no games supporting xfire, having an 850W PSU just to run the damn thing.
Stay away IMO.

There has to be a reason why he wants to trade. Has he specified?
Either way, I'd still say no. I always try to encourage 1 more powerful card than 2 less powerful cards. Not to mention that the Nvidia driver suite seems way more refined that AMD's. I mean Shadowplay is just amazeballz.

the reason he's offering it to me is that I asked and he has a shit load of tech and he doesn't need that desktop anymore
I don't think I'm going to do it

Il stick to my guns and say this is still a bad deal. Plus, when you want to upgrade, you'll get more out of you 1080 than you would 2 390x's ;)

not worth risking it either cause my case is a micro atx and it supports Xfire but IDK if there's room for that card
