It honestly depends on the employer and what job you're trying to do. If you were applying for a CPA, banker or anything like that, I'm sure they would turn away quickly just because they deem it unprofessional since your looks represent the company instead of focusing more on the work you do. Don't think any psychical labour type work would turn you away with a hand tattoo so long as it wasn't gang related or extremism such as a Nazi supporter. They don't really give a shit if you look "professional" or not, they only care if you know how to do your job correctly or are willing to learn and prove more than what was taught to you. Personally that's how I see it with regards to how a lot of psychical labour employers treat. I mean, I wouldn't care if a surgeon or even a lawyer was tattooed up to their neck, as long as they know how to do their job, go right the hell on ahead with your ink.

Edit: Also to throw this in, if any of OP's tattoos should become a problem, there is tattoo concealer he can buy that matches his skin tone. Yeah, it's extra money and waste some time putting it on, but if he's to the point where he thinks "I might not get this job due to my tattoos" boom, tattoo concealer and you're good. Just get the one that doesn't wash off easily with water, that way any sweat or liquids won't make it to lose it's concealment.

Completely agree.

I have my hand tattooed and I am in a very well paying job.

As you said, shouldn't matter if you are covered in tattoos, if you can do your job well that's all that should matter.
