I'm sincerely sorry to hear that, that honestly, really sucks. I worry about my dad giving me or himself cancer everyday cause all he does is smoke around the whole family. I wish you the best of luck, prayers to your grandma.

I'm sorry to read about that, Parrot. Make sure to spend the time she has left with her and enjoy her presence while it lasts. My grandmas are both alive but I know the inevitable end of the road so this hits close to home. Hope everything is well.

My uncle died from lung cancer when I was 7 or 8 years old.

His family was hugely impacted by it.. There's a really good story behind everything but I'm not comfortable saying it on the here.

Best of luck is all I can say! Spend as much time with her as you can because when she's gone you will regret it!

I don't know if my Grandmother is still alive or not, but before I left my mother's house, she had Ovarian Cancer and a tumor growing on her ovaries at the same time. The tumor burst one night and her neighbor had to call an ambulance (she lived in another country at the time so wasn't with us) because she was screaming in pain and was rushed the hospital. Doctors removed the tumor and said she was going to have a Hysterectomy to stop the Ovarian Cancer from spreading elsewhere; which turned out they didn't do. Whoever was supposed to perform her surgery basically cut her open, stitched her back up and wrote down they preformed the Hysterectomy. Few months went by before she knew something wasn't right when she was waking up every night throwing up non-stop for hours with blood being in her throw up. Off to a different doctor, he explained what happened, they actually removed everything with the Hysterectomy, she went through Chemo, her body rejected the second batch and said at this point she would be on Hospice. After that, no clue what happened to her. It's been almost 5 years since I last lived with my mother, and have been in contact with 0 family members except for my uncle as I send him my dogs after they get old so he can take care of them in Russia. What surprises me though, is the fact she didn't get Lung Cancer. She's been smoking since 13, my grandfather told me when they met at 20, she would go through 2 or 3 packs of smokes a day and that continued up until he died, in which she was burning through 4 packs a day up until her hospital trip. At that time she was 62 years old, so I'm rather blown away with how she had literally 0 trace of any type of Lung Cancer.

Anyways, best of luck to you and your grandmother. I guess the best advice I can offer you is not to think negative about the outcome, instead think of the positive of what she provided for you and your family. No matter the outcome, you can at least say you were able to make her proud of you and that you love her.
