When I first bough my Xbox one s a couple of months ago everything was all fine. I could play online just fine in games like CoD and battlefield. Now recently I am having network issues and I can't seem to figure it out. When I get online I can play without any lag for about a half hour and then all of a sudden I get really bad lag no matter what game I'm playing. I have to disconnect from live and recconect to get it to go away but it always come back. I've tried everything I can think of (port forwarding, putting xbox in DMZ, assigning new IP, factory reset) unfortunately I cannot run a wired connection because my Xbox is to far away from my router. No other devices I have seem to have this problem.
Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it?

So your connection is WiFi? Which is unpredictable since many things these days can interfere with WiFi. For starters you can try changing the channel of your WiFi. Usually 1,6, and 11 are the better channels to have. If you have neighbors that have WiFi their signal can interfere with yours if on the same channel. I've heard of a microwave when turned on would drop someone's connection, maybe your router is next to a computer tower and needs to be elevated or moved away from electronics.

I will try to change the wifi channel when I get home, is there any downside to doing so? Also i still can't see why all of a sudden I am having these issues

There really isn't a downside, you'll have to experiment a bit with each channel to see what is best. There is apps you can get to see what WiFi channels your neighbors are using to ensure no WiFi interference. Maybe the WiFi on your router is going, might need a new one. Maybe it could be the console, are you in the preview program? Could be an OS bug. Did you purchase a new electronic around the time it started?

Well changing channels seems to stop the lag for about 45 min or so. I have recently gotten a new smart tv.

Assuming the smart TV is also connected to your WiFi?

Is your console right under the TV or beside it? Could try moving the console further away from the TV if there might be an interference with that.

I would also recommend making sure you have compatibility mode set so it doesn't support g mode devices. 802.11 a/n/ac mode is optimal. If g is enabled I would switch it off since really old devices still use g mode that you probably don't have in your home.

Does your router support dual band WiFi networks? Could try connecting to 5Ghz network but the distance is shortened. 2.4Ghz is meant for range and 5Ghz is meant for more power and faster speeds but if your Xbox is pretty far away you might not even pickup the connection

Unfortunately my router is not dual band and I have since turned the wifi on my tv off thinking that was the issue. I'm starting to think the problem is with console itself. Like o said, I've never had thus issue in the past until recently. Thanks for try to help!

Ive had the same problem with my one s, These past couple of week have been the worst. and ive done literally everything you have done. i phoned my Broadband up (sky) which said they have been have problems with cables and have people going round diagnosing the problem.

I waited a few days before going back online and so far everything seems okay..
