So I will be going to college in the fall, and I am going to need a laptop to help with my studies. I know nothing about laptops, and I do not know anybody that does, and that is why I am asking.

What I am looking for:
Good Battery Life
Lots of Storage
One that will last for awhile
Good graphics
Runs quickly
I might want to use it for gaming so if it could run games that would be a bonus.

I am looking to spend less than $900. I honestly know nothing about laptops. Thank you for anyone that helps:)

Are you going to be at home or are you going away somewhere for college? If you're staying home I would recommend a cheaper laptop to take with you and then a nicer desktop to have at home. If you're going away I would suggest looking at something like a thinkpad T series and get a docking station and an eGPU so you can do some gaming while having a nice laptop to take around campus with you.

Personally I have a thinkpad X230 with an i5 3320m and 12GBs of RAM that I take to work and class with me and when I get home I drop it on my docking station that hooks up to my TV and I have a wireless mechanical keyboard and wireless mouse that I can sit in my bed and use.

Good graphics and Macbook don't fall into the same category. Also if he wants to run games a MacBook Air would melt.

Thinkpads are very good laptops, have worked on most of them from the X200-X250 and from the T30-T440. I know most of them inside out. Solid build and would recommend it over any Macbook for a business/college laptop.

Most college's financial aid will tell you that you can write a laptop off as a school expense, like i have done and have gotten my money back. So basically i got a laptop for free. But i actually do use it for school.

I would try to get the newest MacBook air or MacBook pro.

Mac's are not configured to game on but im sure you can get away with some games

I agree with the guys telling you Mac, that is what I use and literally everyone else I know and see using. Sure they are expensive but they will last you a very long time and usually never have to worry about viruses. I use the Air and I love it, thought about going for the Pro but seemed like a little more then I needed. Good luck in school!

Macs are just as susceptible to viruses as windows is.

I am no computer genius by any means but myself and everyone I know who has had a mac has never had problems with viruses. The people I know who have had Dell, HP, Toshiba (not sure if any of those are the same lol) But they go through computers left and right because they get so filled with viruses. Maybe just bad luck on their part I don't know. Like I said I am not computer genius just know from personally experience and what others have been through.
