Paypal is safe, its just how you use it when it comes to getting scammed etc.

PayPal is safe, as I use it for every bit of buying I do. But in relativity to buying something like a modded service, it potentially can bite you in the butt if you God forbid, get scammed.

PayPal is a very secure way of sending/receiving payments.

Pros - Most online stores accept PayPal as a form of payment, some places even allow you to use PayPal in store. Very easy to send/receive payments from anyone. You can send/receive payments even if the buyer isn't from the same country as you.

Cons - PayPal can sometimes decide to be a pain and limit your account and you'll have to go through some long process to get it fixed and sometimes you won't even be able to so you'll lose the money you had in your account. Lots of times they will side with the buyers in disputes so you could potentially lose some money.

There are a couple other pros/cons with using PayPal, but that's what I could think of off the top of my head.

Not as safe as they claim. I happened to stumble across a huge bug which allows you to bypass security checks on the account your logging into. Also PP are pr!cks and lock your account and steal £3,000 off you.

So, no. I don't think PayPal is safe.

Ancestor wrote You're safe from the infamous "chargebacks" (when a customer pays, waits a while and then tries to refund his money by saying that it was an unauthorized payment) by receiving money through "Friends & Family".

PayPal is safe to use; you'll be receiving quite a few e-mails from "PayPal" because someone's trying to phish your account, be careful with those e-mails. PayPal actually makes buying through eBay, at least for me, faster and makes me feel safer since I don't have to put in my credit card/debit card information into eBay.

Phishing is the old method, now it's bruteforcing accounts. Which then are later sold on websites for 4$ with email access & everything needed.
