Long story short, which is best? I currently have the Ryzen 5 but am considering the Ryzen 3 however im not sure if there will be any noticeable difference?

Have you bought your CPU? If so, there is no point of upgrading.

However, if I was you and debating over them 2 CPU's, I'd pick up the 1400 and overclock it a little to match the 1300x's speed. Then you'd get 4 cores and SMT [Hyperthreading equivilent] for £25 more.
