Icy Drifter
Platform: Android
Genre: Arcade
Release Date: Aug 31, 2016
Developer: Qoon
Publisher: Qoon
Synopsis
Drift your way over the ice without breaking it. Drift over the ice around the poles in this hard drifting game. How much points can you get? Play the new Meld-Down mode for the hardcore players.
Gameplay
You are put into a white card on a stranded piece of ice in the middle of nowhere. Your task is to drift around these small little brown rocks that are placed randomly around the ice patch. This is weird it gets confusing, If you completed the tutorial you will have to follow what the fish are doing. So if you see a fish that's swimming around a rock clockwise then you're going to have to go to that rock and do the exact same thing, circle the rock clockwise to get 1 point on the score board. There is only 3 things you have to do to the rocks to get points. 1 being circling around a rock fully clockwise and counter clockwise. Another being doing a drift around a rock and the last going straight through 2 rocks that are close to each other. If you happen to hit a rock by accident the ground will crack. If you bump into so many rocks the whole iceberg will crack and the game will end. There will also be holes in the iceberg that will mess you up. There is 2 game modes in the game, one being classic with you doing everything I just said. Then there is classic melting where you will have limited time to get as many points as you can before the iceberg melts and the rounds over. You get the points in the same way but the environment you're playing on gets extremely harder.
Graphics
The game is mostly pretty straightforward of what you would think of it. The iceberg you are placed on isn't to detailed but still has cracks and will sometimes generate well looking holes. Your car isn't that impressive look, all they did was make a square and color it in white then place windows to make it look like a car. The interesting feature they did though was leave little faded tracks of your vehicle when you're coasting on the iceberg. You will get to purchase a load of different vehicles in the game but most of them are just country themed vehicles and maybe 1 or 2 looking actually decent such as the bat mobile and the Delorean. A well-known feature of Icy Drifter is the fish, you're going to get a lot of time looking at the fish that swim under the iceberg and the fish that swim in the outskirts of the game. These fish are only small little things besides maybe 1 killer whale that will swim by. The water does have a minor wave effect to them but is hardly visible unless you have your eye touching the screen. The game could have done a lot more with its graphics and especially the detail in its vehicles.
Controls
The controls are pretty easy as I suspected. You will have 1 side of your screen as your button for drifting left, the right side of your screen for drifting right. You either hold one side or the other for which way you want to head for. The hard part about it is you'll need a little bit of timing to get good drifts in to complete the challenges to earn you a point. Personally I had to complete the tutorial a total of 3 times because I thought I knew what I was doing and skipped it.

Doesn't sound like a very fun game to me. Seems like they took a cool idea like drifting and added a weird twist to it. It does kind of remind of the ice gym leader in pokemon ruby and sapphire though, just by looking at the game pictures. Good review man, went pretty in depth even though you don't really like it

Awesome game and review however there is still room for improvement. Sometimes the poles/points are confusing so marking them better would help. Also after dying and watching a video or pay with those points to have a second chance the car sometimes stops steering.
