Volitions new open-world adventure Agents of Mayhem hits tomorrow, and as we see in the games launch trailer, its heroes are busy busting bad guys on the streets of Seoul, Korea.
While Agents of Mayhem does share some connections to the Saints Row series in terms of characters and world elements, its the first project Volition has worked on not directly tied to their franchise about rival gangs since 2011s Red Faction: Armageddon. In the game, players put together teams of three characters from a roster of 12 heroes, with the goal of taking down the evil forces of the L.E.G.I.O.N. organization.
Along some of the Saints-inspired gameplay elements that it features, Agents of Mayhem also offers up some of its own unique twists, such as triple jumps or the ability to switch one of your team members out for another at any time, depending on whos needed in a particular situation. Each character has their own unique personalities and special abilities, to a point that the roster of M.A.Y.H.E.M. agents has been compared by some to the soldiers of G.I. Joea fitting thought, given the cartoon about real American heroes (and other 1980s media) served as inspiration for the game.
Agents of Mayhem hits tomorrow, August 15th, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
