SufferingVII wroteHiddeNxMooN wrote Lived in Oregon my whole life. I don't like it much, but it seems a lot greener than most states. California is on my top list of places to move to when possible. Anyway being an American is kinda in a weird place. It's realy everything you have heard about. Right now we are being threatened by Kim Jong Un with nuclear attacks. So thats that...
Lmao.

it really depends where you live in the states and how youre apart of your community.
growing up in the southeast part of the US, i noticed a huge difference in culture when i moved to New England (North East part of the US). The politics are different, the people are warmer/colder, the scenery is different, etc.
as of recent, i dont really feel like the US is a so welcoming place. and i kind of feel like the country is deteriorating.
it's really hard to explain "what it's like to be an american citizen" when i havent been a citizen of anywhere different to compare it to

(I've lived in Texas for over 20 years)
I'm sorry but I laughed at this for quite a bit.
Please tell me how great our state of Texas is when the ruling party wants shit like ending the minimum wage and our Governor leads a group of Governors who want to turn states into their own mini-countries who don't have to follow federal law.

I live in Puerto Rico, a small island in the Caribbean which is a terroritory belonging to the United States. We have basically the same rights as any American citizen, even though we don't belong to the United States mainland.
To be honest, you'll feel pretty much the same except you'll be a part of the United States. The transition from another country to the U.S. must be quite spectacular, seeing as how you're experiencing new things; I've gone to the U.S. (only Chicago, New York and Florida) and I've enjoyed my time there. Sure, the United States isn't a haven but it's not the worst place to live in.
In fact, the island's going through extremely difficult circumstances. There's a debt of over $72 billion (from hedge funds and other activities), there's an economic crisis which has made the United States send a Fiscal Control Board which was made to moderate and establish fund-usage for the island and it's created some unrest within the population. The island's school system is failing with a whopping 40,000 less students attending classes this year, when compared to last year, the local university (Universidad de Puerto Rico) is getting some mayor budget cuts which push the price per credit from $55 to $125 which is inaccessible to some on the island. More and more people are moving to the United States and my family is soon to be one; I just hope that I can move to the United States and feel safe over there, without having to worry about my parents being harassed for having an accent, since I don't have one.
I don't mind being known as an American citizen but not that many people know about Puerto Rico or that people from this island are already American citizens. There's even a well done segment by John Oliver explaining what's going on in Puerto Rico, if anybody's interested in watching it.
Sorry if I got off-topic for a bit.

Pizza can be delivered to your house in under 30 minutes.
That sentence should explain enough.

Living in America is great, I live in California so the weather is amazing here. The beaches are great and the people are overall friendly. There is a few things I would change but I can't see myself living anywhere else in the world. The mexican food is also amazing.
