So, I went into my shed to find a screwdriver to find on the floor a very bloated and bloodied dead cat, slightly decomposed.. I live in an area where posting it on Facebook won't achieve anything, but I can't go door to door as there's to many.

I am on my own and I don't know what to do, someone help please I beg?..

Every time I go I in there I am sick it's actually disgusting

collar on the cat? if none, dig and bury.
If there is, still dig and bury but try looking around facebook or lost page and try to find the owners, keep the collar or bury it with the poor kitty.

I put some gloves on and a mask as it's literally disgusting, put it in a black carrier bag.. I can put it in a box to bury it. I'm honestly trying so hard rn

If someone's cat usually goes out of the house it usually returns periodically.
If it's been long enough for it to be partially decomposed then I'd assume the owners would know it's probably dead anyway.

Don't worry about it would be my advice. People's cats go missing all of the time.

As for removing it, I don't know if you live in the UK but if you report it to the local council it's their job to remove things like that. There can be problems with disease.

If it was me I'd pick it up with a shovel and either bury it or put it in your bin to be taken to a landfill.
The smell is something you're just going to have to get over, or put a cloth over your nose.

Personally, I'd bury it if it has no collar and it's slightly decomposed.

I would say just bury it and not to worry about finding its owner if there is no collar on it. There would prob be no way for them to identify it anyways if it is partially decomposed
