So, this will be my freshman year of college and i need a new laptop as i start monday. I'm not one who knows a whole ton about laptops however and i've really narrowed it down to 2 main options.
Dell Xps 13 vs. Macbook Pro
They're both very good computers i know that but in your guys opinion what would be the better option and why?
Any help is truly appreciated.

I have the dell XPS 15 and I love it as I am using it for college as well. I would defiantly say the XPS 13 because it is by far cheaper than the macbook pro and does basically the same exact things as the macbook. Macbooks are over rated and over hyped in my opinion. Hope this helps you in any way! If you have any questions about it don't hesitate to ask me! Whats your major? Touch screen or no touch screen? How long have you had yours and have you run into any problems?

My major is in business but this is my first year of college so I've only been taking my basic classes and like introduction into business and I've had it for probably 4 months and I've loved it ever since i've gotten it, I have touch screen but I rarely use it as I actually sometimes forget that it is touchscreen. But I have not run into any problems with it so far.

This decision would really boil down personal preference.
If you like OSX go with the Macbook Pro.
I would suggest that you get a Macbook Pro because you can dual boot windows on it.
I don't personally own a Macbook Pro, but I do want one for iOS development.
Another thing I can add is the the keyboard on the new Macbook Pros have a nice physical feeling click to them. Idk if that is something that interests you, but I like it because I use mechanical keyboards.
That being said, if you do get the Macbook and plan to dual boot, you should opt for the bigger SSD.
Also, what specs are you looking at for these laptops.
