Well, my brother has a 2013 Mustang (same thing as the one you linked), he hit a deer and insurance quoted about $6k in damage.

Headlights alone are going to be $1k, the fender was $320, the bumper cover was $400, and the hood was $1300 (we got a GT500 hood though). Paint will be in the $1k area, and we're doing installation ourselves to save that cost but one big issue we've run into is the radiator support is bent so I'm still trying to figure that out.

All in all what I see for you is $320 for each fender ($640 total), $600 for a stock base model hood, $400 for the bumper, $1k ish for headlights, then probably around $1500-2k in paint. This does not include any mechanical issues or issues I can't see such as bent supports. We started off buying pre-painted parts but the paint wasn't the same shade even though it was the same paint code so we wasted our money there, however the seller of the parts asked me to send in a piece of the old fender so they can paint match. If you're interested I'll give you their information.

Off color fender even though it's painted to the same paint code

Come on dude, its a mustang
Just throw on a bar bumper, throw on an "insert crowd here" sticker and drive it around like that
Opening a can of worms working on a wreck. Older cars are one thing but a later model and your gonna dishing out some mulah for no reason...
Of all things you could pickup and fix for a deal... an auto v6. I dont judge.
You can find panels for $100 a piece in private yards (though likely similar damage; luck of the draw), and headlights could be easily acquired off another mustang owner who upgrade to aftermarket assy's, by checking on local ownership clubs and such. Look around and dont be afraid to walk away from high prices, parts aren't always easy to sell of this nature, as they are hard to find, later models especially. Really helps if you know people, so be friendly.

Lol well the reason I am getting a v6 is because I am just 16 and don't have the money to dish out on a v8 for insurance, but thanks for the help I haven't for sure decided on what I am going to do

I don't care what anyone says, the newer V6's put out a lot of power. There's honestly no sense in spending the extra money up front and in gas / insurance to have a V8.

At 16, I think you are smart looking at a totaled vehicle like this and fixing it up because later on you will be able to sell it for more than you have into it however I'm not sure if a Mustang is a great choice. Having experience with this same set up in my brothers car I can tell you that the rear end of a Mustang is stupid light and likes to break traction in the rain. Forget about driving in the snow. If you're dead set on buying a Mustang I would highly suggest buying like 5 cinder blocks to throw in the trunk when the roads get wet just to put some weight over the rear axle to keep traction. I do this in my truck (more than 5 though lol) because trucks also don't have the best traction in the rain / snow.

I'm not sure what "merk" means, however my brothers car has a salvage title and insurance isn't too bad for a newer muscle car and a kid with 2 speeding tickets. He pays somewhere around $225/mo for full coverage (I pay $193 for full coverage on my 2006 F-250 and clean driving record).

Little bit of a grave dig, but I have most of the parts for the Mustang. I got an aftermarket hood so it'll look good, but all told as the car sits I'm in about $2200. I'm still going to get a new radiator support because I didn't like how I "fixed" it and that's going to be about $1k, but I'm still over $3k ahead of what insurance gave us.
