If you have a laptop or have a WiFi adapter USB you can connect to a VPN. If you want to connect your VPN from your PC's wired connection you'll need to get something like [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . Then you'll need to connect everything and enable ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) in Windows you can follow [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] and it should work with any VPN.
For example my connection is setup like this I have my RGH connected to my PC's ethernet port and have a USB WiFi card that connects to my router. My PC is also connected to my VPN. You can do the same for a laptop.

This is my thread from Gold Section: this will help alot.
Why you should use a VPN and why you shouldn't, well first things first using a VPN will stop you from being kicked offline by idiots and even if you are it offline you can swap to a new server and connect 10x faster than you could on your actual internet, this will also stop you from being retail banned, aslong as you use a VPN at all times, not there's no 100% chance you wont get banned on a retail if you're infecting yourself, but if you're using a VPN then they can't say you're modding, as most Stealth Tools spoof your mac.
Only downsides really is that not all VPNs give you a good download speed, which can cause you to get slower speeds, but using Neighborhood /FTP to transfer files this shouldn't be much of an issue.

Step One: Download a VPN you'd like to use, would recommend Cyberghost
or Avast Antivirus has a really good one, which is free for 1 week, and like 2 dollars to purchase
Step One: Network and Sharing center.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
As you can see in this picture, I have " Ethernet, Ethernet 2, Ethernet 3, SecureLine "
Let me explain, Ethernet is my Ethernet that connects from my PC to my RGH.
Ethernet 2 is CyberGhost.
SecureLine is Avast, current VPN.
Step Two:
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Select " Properties "
Step Three:
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Select " Sharing " Tab make sure both boxs are unticked.
Step Four: Run your VPN and make sure your Ethernet is plugged into your PC to your RGH/JTAG.
Step Five:
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
From the drop down box, select your Ethernet that goes into your RGH, for me it's Ethernet, once you've selected it hit " Ok "
Now simply boot up your console.
There's other methods such as Bridging your connection, aswell as using IP's that are set in your internet, although we don't need to do that it's a much longer process and just a waste of time.
Everytime you reset your computer, simply redo these steps.
Load your VPN, select properties under select sharing, untick the boxes, then reselect boxes and select your Ethernet, press okay, boot console.
If this guide doesn't help you or you want me to make a video guide, instead I can do that, feedback would be great.
