Verifying a account is more than keeping it safe, Verifying a account proves you are not a robot making spam email accounts which is something very popular with Outlook emails and its also used to prove you own the information attached to the account in case you need to reset password . While it may seem like a hassle, There is reasoning behind it whether you like it or not. I mean, 1 Person only needs so many email accounts, So you cant be mad at Microsoft for blocking accounts if they believe they are spam accounts.
