In the past I've had a 2009 MacBook Pro and a 2012 MacBook I just shelled out 2 thousand dollars for a Mac book pro today only to receive 256 gb of storage what is the best cost effective way to get more storage keeping in mind I really rather not have a big external hanging on to y computer all the time.

I was thinking that but I just really hate the thought of having something always sticking out my computer

I'm assuming you mean Storage and not Ram lol. You should be able to open it up and replace the SSD in it. When I had my 2009 MacBook I replaced the 256 with a 320. All I had to do if I remember was open the bottom of the laptop and the SSD was in a spot by the battery

No, but its also not like a SATA SSD. Truly his best use of his money is an external hard drive because the SSD that are required are expensive. They have however dropped in price from the last time I checked. Heres a link to the type of SSD you would need [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

If it doesn't bother you get a 2.5inch ssd and a sata to usb adapter. Or if you're looking for more of mass storage w/ lower speeds seagate makes some of the best external hdd's
