I just have a taste for premium audio. Like Adam said above, 402's pretty much set the benchmark for me and audio, I have his old ones. The CR4's aren't quite as good as the 402's, but then they are half the price. So they wouldn't be. Also 402's are Tannoy, which are a dedicated professional audio company so they know how to go about making decent speakers xD

If these 402's were to pack up on me, I would consider getting some CR4's myself as I cannot push these 402's to their full potential as often as i'd like. But that's the thing with studio monitors, you can throw pretty much whatever music you want at it and at any level you see fit. And they will deliver.

but hey, each to their own on that front.

Sub's are supposed to have more than just a distortion sound coming from them, if you only hear distortion from your sub something wrong Also, very little bass from your tabletop speakers and No surround sound
to each his own, but i cant be bothered with smaller 2 in 1 speakers

but tiny subs are pointless they dont have the power to develop the low frequences unless it has 8" or bigger cone so basically a smaller cone wont be able to develop the power/range Smaller enclosure, usually less power and bad frequencies

but there only worth if your getting 5"+ and a 8"+ sub tbh so yea also depends on the size of your room and loads of factors like what your doing with them do you like quality can you tell the difference in sounds what kind of freq response you want do you just want a bassy mess do you want a flat response or a ear piercing high sound so just get what you like just remember your front speakers are the most important for a good sounding setup so just make sure your happy with what you get like mine aint just for gaming and films mine are for producing and stuff since im at college for music and performance so i spent many days researching and going to music shops to find speakers i like and i chose the yamaha hs8's i wouldnt recommend these for films and stuff but my reference ones alesis elevate 5's i would since they have front facing sub ports and Elliptical waveguides that minimize reflection and widen the listening area so there great also with a bass switch so you can turn enhanced bass on or you can listen to them flat so you have options so i recommend just going to the music shops and going to places that have Logitech on display and doing some testing the only thing you should listen too is your ears and see what sounds best to you

yep im done too i edited my last post with some of my thoughts clarity should be most important and by the looks of that review id stay way from them low power and bad clarity there like 2" drivers too with 0 tweeter well good luck and use your ear and go do some testing at shops my best advice

Okay i appreciate a majority of the messages posted on this, but it wasn't that necessary for all of this was it lmao.

All speaker suggestions were pretty good, did some more research on them all. However your discussions of the quality of said speakers was just gratuitous. You all have opinions, don't crap on other peoples.
But again thank you all, you've helped my decisions.

Opinions on the matter are fine, but facts also come into it too when recommending to other people.

But some people can't grasp that xD

CrispZ had a good point though, you should go and try some out in shops. That's the only way you'll know for sure you get what you want.
