Ehh, I would only agree with your brother if you're using a 1080 Ti GPU for a 1080p monitor or a 1440p that isn't at least 144Hz. At that point I would say it's a waste because that card should be used for a 4k monitor or a 1440p @ 144Hz; if it is being used for a 1080p 60 Hz monitor, you could have easily saved yourself like $300-$400 getting a 1060 or a 1070.

CPU cooler definitely could have gone for a dual radiator; however, I know most people avoid that on the S340 case due to double rad only being supported in the front.

Other than that, I don't see anything that was overboard. There are a few nitpicks that I would personally have changed in this build -- mostly due to aesthetic reasons but it doesn't mean the PC is bad as of now.

yeah i saw it was front mount rad with duals so i chose the single. But i plan on getting a 4k monitor for christmas.

Depends what exactly you're using the system for and what monitor(s) you're using.

Poor choice of cooler though, and SSD.

drop the 1700, swap it for a 1600, future proof or not. It isn't worth the premium over the 1600 trust me. Grab a beefy dual tower noctua cooler over that trashy AIO. Drop the SSD for an M.2 850 EVO. Lose the s340, it is an alright case, just not my preference, go for the p300s.



This is just an idea of a "better" choice. You have a more modern, better-looking case IMO. The PSU most would likely not recommend, though I have never had an issue using any of the three Seasonic PSU's I have used.

850 EVO should be more than enough, for your OS and a few games and or different programs. The cooler is beefy, not the exact model I used on my rig, but will suit you MORE than enough for overclocking and cooling performance.

Swapped the motherboard. Not sure if you chose it for RGB or not, but not worth the premium over a cheaper x370 board from Asus. You can just buy a lighting kit or even the NZXT Hue+; if you aren't into that, then just get some fans, Thermaltake or Corsair RGB, if you wanted to take the risk look around on ebay for used ones.
