Depends what "uni work" is, what games you play, what monitors you're using, and what you're looking to achieve with an upgrade.

Monitor A: Acer GN246HLBbid 24 inch Wide FHD LED Gaming Monitor with 144 Hz, 1 ms, 350 nits, DVI, HDMI, Acer EcoDisplay - Black
Monitor B: BenQ GL2250H
I'm an IT student, and need to use programes like Virtual Basic etc.
Play games such as PUBG, League, CSGO, GTA
And generally I just want the PC to run everything smoother if that's possible.

Storage: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] (£134.34 @ Aria PC)

GTX 1070Ti should be available at the end of this month and your R9 290 should be more than adeqaute to hold you over until then, so might be worth waiting for that but the GTX 1070 is solid if you're looking for something asap.
