I am going to be building my first computer soon and I have been looking at some parts online that are discounted but not by much. Are most of the deals now on black Friday or during Cyber Monday?

I feel like a lot of people get this misconception that Black Friday/Cyber Monday = hundreds of dollars off of hardware. It's not always the case for that.
I'll give an example. At 12:01 AM on Friday, Frys was selling 850 EVO 500 GB SSD for $118 and 1 TB of the same model for $270, which is a stupidly great deal considering they go for like $150 for the 500 GB and $350 for the 1 TB. Then you look at some of the GPUs and they were $10 or $20 off - which, is still a deal but not what a lot of people expect. Black Friday/Cyber Monday is a love-hate time to build your PC. Sure there are sales but if you get your hopes up that you're going to be shaving off a couple hundred dollars, chances are you're only going to frustrate yourself; then when you actually find a great deal, now you have to battle with others who were trying to snag that and you could very well be too late to get it. If you can get savings then it helps your budget more but if someone goes in with high expectations that their $1,600 build is going to be like $1,200 they're only going to frustrate themselves on top of having to stress out about being getting the deal(s) in time before they are out of stock.

It's kinda random. I know Frys and Microcenter tend to let people know a day or two before a sale goes live; however, most of those sales don't include shipping so it can be a type of "loophole" for in-store purchases.
If you want to always be in the loop about deals, make a random email account and any places you thought of buying hardware for, sign up to be alerted to any deals or promos that way you can check that email whenever you feel like it and chances are something will be on sale. Alternatively, if you are using PCPartPicker and have the hardware already in a list, the prices are updated, so it's worth checking that out at least daily.
Finally, you can head over to here:

I've found some sweet deals over there before, such as getting an Acer XB271HU bmiprz 165Hz 1440p IPS monitor for $480 instead of the usual $699 -- JUST because the person opened the box and returned it back to Acer. Not a single thing was wrong with it then and the 7 months later I've owned it. The biggest steal I've seen so far on there was actually last week with this.
