Details:
Developer(s): Slightly Mad Studios
Platform(s):
Microsoft Windows
Xbox One
PlayStation 4
Release: 22 September 2017
Mode(s): Multiplayer, Single Player

Overview/Synopsis:
Project CARS 2 is a motorsport racing simulator video game developed by Slightly Mad Studios and published and distributed by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It was released worldwide on 22 September 2017, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Gameplay:
Project Cars 2 is a racing simulator, so this from the outset means its not a game you can sit back, relax and expect to win on. Its a game you actually have to concentrate and play. The game compared to Project Cars 1, feels extremely refined, even down to the UI. Cars feels nicer to drive, tracks feels nicer to drive on, and just feels better all round. Project Cars 2 boasts more motorsport than its predecessor including; Indycar, Oval Racing, RallyCross (WRX) and GT3. Rallycross has a few variations of its own such as Ice racing, dirt and mud racing in various specially designed cars. As for the gameplay though, Project Cars 2 was tested and moulded around professional racing drivers since the beginning. This means that the game has extremely good physics and very hard to master.

Projects Cars 2 has a bigger car list than the first game, now supporting over 180 cars upon launch, meaning there are more to choose from depending on what you feel like driving in the moment. The variations in cars is massive, you can hop into a 1969 Ford Mustang or into a 1200BHP Formula X car, links at the bottom for the full car list. You cal also have some fun in the Radbull drift car, the thing is actually insane, but was much loved DLC from the first game so Im glad they bought it back in the base. Stanceworks cars also feature in the game alongside the stock/unmodified versions of the car. Just to give you a sense of feeling how much you can change the car just by a few upgrades.

Overall, Project Cars 2 has set the bar fairly high for ANY racing simulator to touch it. I personally cannot see it within the next few years, but who knows what the future holds.

Graphics:
Project Cars 2 graphics are astounding, I cant even begin to tell you how nice this game looks when you turn all the settings to 11. The game uses 12k textures in places, which makes the roads, cars and scenery all seem like real life. The car models are faultless thanks to the new state of the art physics modelling tech they used. Car interiors are true to life authenticity in older cars and space ship looking tech in the newer ones, all fitted with working screens to help you out in races. Such as lap timers, fuel gauges and engine temperatures. I have attached a few images and a few Youtube links to show what Im on about, as me talking about it, can never do it justice.

Controls:
Controls are as expected, there is nothing on this game that cannot be binded to whatever you want. Project Cars 2 supports pretty much every wheel you can think of (support links at the bottom), most, if not all game controllers. But to get the most out of the game, you will need a decent wheel setup, otherwise you cant do the game justice or play it to its full potential. Nothing more i need to say apart the fact, they are perfect.

System Requirements (PC):

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 10 (+ specific versions of 7)
Processor: 3.5 GHz Intel Core i5 3450, 4.0 GHz AMD FX-8350
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: GTX680 or equivalent
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 50 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX compatible sound card

RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows 10
Processor: Intel i7 6700k
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: NVidia GTX 1080 or AMD Radeon RX480
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 50 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX compatible sound card

Overview:
In my opinion, the game is the best racing simulator Ive played to date. Nothing can top it. If i was being very picky, i wouldnt mind it being easier to drift on, as its virtually impossible to do so as it stands now. But the game has only been out 2 days, so I cannot wait for what the future holds for it.

Thinking of buying it? Do it now!

I bought this game for PS4 and bought a wheel at same time. I couldnt get used to controls its too touchy. But maybe im just used to forza? Either way i prefer being able to completely control what type of racing im doing. Like Forza. Drifting, Free roam, Track, Races Etc..

I've never heard of a car simulator racing game. This sounds like a very fun game, and the graphics look outstanding. It may be worth checking out but doesn't seem like it would be super fun if you don't put in the time. Either way, excellent review and I liked that you took your own screenshots
