so I'm relatively new to PC. I just upgraded my ram to 16gb. I had 2x4 in there already. can I mix them both together if they are both DDR4 2400Mhz? so it would end up giving me 24gb of ram across the board?

RAM can be iffy. Best bet is to just try it out and see if it works. It should be fine, but I've seen people buy 2 kits of the exact same 2x8GB, and they didn't work together.

^ I was one of them people.
I had pretty much the same kit, but the the CAS was slightly different. It managed to work at 1333Mhz & 1600 but not 1866 which they were both rated for.
As 13 said, try it and find out. You might get lucky.
