I have the MacBook Air and I'd highly recommend it. The only problem I've had with it is whenever I play GTA SA it gets really hot after 10/15 mins so its clearly not meant for gaming but anything else it works like a charm.

Not a MacBook.

Apple = wayyy overpriced.

Get a equivalent priced windows box and Virtual machine OS X or dual boot It if you really want.

It really isn't that easy. Many VMs can have a hard time booting MacOS. I know this from personal experience. The they want a Mac, let them get a Mac.

OP I would recommend the either of those Macbook airs that you have selected. They both have the same specs from what I saw when I found them online. The Mac book air is getting pretty old and they are only dual cores, so you won't get great results for video editing.

I went into apple with the plan of purchasing a Macbook Air as I was after a fast portable laptop, after looking at the sizes and weight of them both, I then went for the Macbook pro. Much better at handling intensive tasks such as video editing as it is designed for professionals who also need the portability side. (Otherwise iMac is also a good choice) I would also recommend if the price isn't that much different buying your Mac directly from the Apple store too.
