As much as this guy is an idiot, the officer who shot the innocent man should get something as well. You don't just shoot someone for opening the door.

Also, why hasn't the family said anything about the officer? They knew he was innocent and they knew he wasn't reaching for anything, yet he was killed.Just a little fishy they're okay with blaming it all on this loser in California.

I understand what they got a call for and the information they were acting on, but I guarantee, even if he truly believed he was reaching for a gun, this officer, I'm sure, is smart enough to know hes not going to pull that gun out instantly and kill said officer(s). If you think your life is on the line because some guy puts his hands near his belt, you don't deserve to be a cop and you might just be too scared in general to be on the force. You know what you signed up for.

Rest easy.

From what I understand, the call came in that the "suspect" was armed, already fatally wounded hostages, had hostages still inside and threatened to burn down the house which he had poured gasoline around beforehand. The officer who was a 7+ year veteran was stationed across the street without a head on line of sight, the man refused to keep his hands up even though officers warned him. The offending officer opened fire when the man lowered his arms to his waistline (usual place for fire arms to be kept). His reasoning was that he feared for his fellow officers safety.

Looking retrospectively, if the "suspect" had complied then it would of gone like all the other swatting incidents, police do their stuff, clear the area, find out its a "prank" then both parties walk away safe. There are multiple people who hold some fault in this and I do think the officer might of been a bit too trigger happy but that is without me been in the situation and seeing it for myself since the camera footage is rather poor.

But to finish, the person who called the police is going down big time and it will be well deserved, especially with prior swatting/ bomb calls.

He yells at him to keep his hands in the air, which he does, then he says to start walking. That's when he is shot. The video isn't the best, but it doesn't look like he reaches for his waist honestly, or he wasn't there yet. It looks like he is shot as his hands are right over his chest.

And this all happens in about 15 seconds.

They should all face charges, not just the person who made the call. They should all be tried for 2nd degree murder and they should all be convicted of it. And the cop who shot the guy should face 1st degree murder charges. The video i saw and the articles i read said that the guy opened the door and was immediately shot

A dispute between two teammates, over the loss of a $1.50 Call of Duty wager, has led to the death of a 28 year old man in Wichita, Kansas.

Two individuals got into a heated argument over a UMG Wager online after a loss in the match. During the heated dispute, one of the individuals involved provided the other with a fake address for where he resided. The other individual decided to send the location to a known swatter. This known swatter is reportedly the same individual that called in a fake bomb threat at CWL Dallas event earlier in December. The swatter called in a fake scenario to the local police. Swatting is a problem in the Call of Duty community. There have been numerous incidents where a fake situation is called into police.

Police arrived at the address and shot and killed a 28 year old individual who was not even involved in the dispute. The officer who fired the shot, a 7 year veteran of the local police department, has been placed on administrative leave as the department investigates what happened.

Over $1.50 it's not like it was several hundred dollars, even then it's not worth it.
