The lack of information is worrying.

- What mic is it
- How are you connecting it
- Is it showing in "Recording Devices" in Windows
- Is it the default device

Windows Key + Q

Type "Sound"

Go to "Recording" tab

Check to see if that input is showing and detecting any sounds.

You might have a PC case with separate Mic and headphone jacks mines does and my way to get around this is a second Xbox controller instead of plugging the Headset direct to your PC plug the controller into your PC Then the headset to the controller. This is the only way i get mine to work. You may be the same unless you buy a adapter.
