Whenever I'm playing xbox, everything is okay. It runs smooth and all is fine and dandy. Then I'll get hit with lag spikes or jolts for about 4-5 seconds. It's horrendous and always happens at the worst of times.

Yes, it triggers me.

Any thoughts on how to resolve this? Or is my internet and location just bad?

Yeah, should've said this.. I've tried resetting. The whole off and on thing. I've held in my reset button for a proper reset also.

if wireless put an Ethernet cable in
if Ethernet still not working hold the xboxs power button down for 10 seconds whilst its on
then pull the power lead out for 30 seconds and put it back in
then that may work if not it prob is ur area but contact your provider instead

Either try resetting your router.
Turning it off for about an hour and turn back on.
Call your internet provider and tell them the problem,, your router my need an update.
Or buy Virgin Active.
