With my job we are working with Children In Need and we discovered that 85% of Kids suffers with shyness but what makes it more scary 75% of adults still suffer with shyness. But becoming an adult you find a way to hide it, for example when I was a kid I never left my mother side, never talk to anyone and for every photo of me you will see my hand covering my face. Now I'm grown up I tend to hide it by making jokes when I tend to start to feel uncomfortable. Shyness is nothing to be ashamed of but can also control your life. For my job I am doing a survey to help the children who is in need.

So my question is have you ever suffered with shyness, do you still suffer with shyness, what you believe made you shy and what do you do to over come it if you still suffer shyness.

I still suffer from shyness today, i'm really really anti-social due to myself having Bipolar Depression and ADHD, i don't really like to talk with people or have them in my room, i just sit and stare at my screen.

I suffer from shyness, in most cases, in fear of rejection by people I don't know personally. I'll be my complete and most authentic self with the people I know, people I can trust. Around strangers, my tongue gets tied, I start to get nervous which leads me to be shy. I'm 22 years old and I still can't get past that 'shyness' when meeting and being around new and unknown people.

I suppose its roots come from when I was in middle school. Going to parties and events were usually places that I felt that everyone judged me (I had terrible, terrible acne back then) and that caused me to be more of an introvert than anything. I'm currently going out more, being less afraid of meeting new people but that shyness will always be there because that's basically how I went through middle school: shy and terrified of meeting new people. It's amazing how the times in middle school (and sometimes high school) begin to mold you, mentally and emotionally.

Anywho, those times are behind me now. I'm glad I'm in college and very few people actually give a rat's ass about other people's appearances and everybody minds their own damn business.

I'm not sure if it's shyness I have but, I do know that I'm insecure. I tend to do the same thing with covering my face up in photographs or simply not wanting to be in them at all. I don't like my face or body. So I avoid all sorts of permanent reminders other than actually having the body myself.

I'm VERY antisocial at gatherings and never speak unless spoken to, even at the age I am where I've gotten older. I never really, blossomed socially.

Yes, I generally believe like you've mentioned majority of people have had this at some stage in life. I just try to be more outgoing and go to places to meet and talk to new people and just overall build my confidence up.

I've always been a shy person but once I've grew older I've grown out of it more. But I'm more of a solo guy so don't really like interacting with people unless I have to. I'm 19 years old and pretty much wanna do is work, relax, and just only be messed with by my girl.

I just don't like people. So I tend to stay towards myself.

We develop shyness at a young age, then we tend to grow out of it the older we get. Most of the time talking to people now is easier than 3 years ago.

I would say I use to be really shy growing up but faded quite a bit I mean me myself I'm a little anti social when it comes to making new friends it's also because I don't trust to many people I have 3 friends that I would trust with my life. But overall I am still a bit shy when meeting new people but when I am comfortable I open up like crazy!
