6 Month Update:

Engine swap is finally done. She sounds mean as ****. Was dealing with massive misfiring on both banks, found out it was due to a vaccum leak - go figure.

Ocean City's H20 is just a few month away, so im working hard to get some new wheels for her. Either way, im excited as hell to finally have my car back after a year of work. Heres some videos of it, first start and finally getting it out of the garage!

Back in June of 2016 I purchased my first car at the age of 19. I've always been a huge fanboy for Audi's because of their aggressive look, even stock out of the factory. I was drawn by the fact that not a lot of car's nowadays looks aggressive, because more manufacturers are going for that "eco", "family friendly" look and I despise it!

After doing some looking, I came across the S4 platform. A beefed up Audi A4, with a 4.2L V8. I fell in love.

Quattro, 6 speed, AND V8?? SOLD.

butttt I had some major problems with the car when I bought it. I jumped the gun and didn't do enough research before purchasing it and I took the fall.

B6/B7 S4's are notorious for timing guide failure and scored cylinders. Just my luck, my car had both.

I was burning 1QT of oil ever 300 miles, meaning every 2 days I had to spend $10 on oil just to keep it from blowing up. I did this for about a year before my timing guide took a crap and my motor when boom.

That was a year ago, July of 2017.

Fast forward a few months and I bit the bullet and purchased a new motor for her. $4500 later. Yeaaa.

It's a donor motor with 65,000 miles on it, so its a baby. Painted the Valve covers white, I want that motor to pop when I open the hood

New motor up from, old one in the back on the lift

I'm currently in the process of putting it back in, everything is slow paced due to not having a lot of friends available and honestly since this is the first time i've ever pulled a motor and put one back in. I'm learning on the way and I don't wanna rush anything.

So far the S4 has gotten some upgrades.

New stage 2 clutch and flywheel (JHM lightweight flywheel and clutch)
New 034 street density motor mounts
JHM Tune
JHM auto tensioner
Full Milltek exhaust - no cats (damn thing was $1900)
Custom cold air Intake

Goals for this year:
Bilstein B16 PSS9 coilovers
Signature SV502 forged wheels
JHM supercharger kit

Here's some updated pictures of her:

Beautiful to say the least. How much have you put into it so far and how much is to come?

I'd say a little over $7k. Was it the smartest thing to do? Probably not especially for a 21 year old, but this car will be in my life for many years to come. I haven't found a platform other than the RS4 that I love and would give her up for. Sure, there's many other engines out there that offer far better aftermarket support, but you lose the Quattro functionality and everything else I love about the car. So I can't just give her up for something else, say like a subaru. Although my goals are to make this car track ready but also show ready. So in the meantime, i've been looking into either 8/9th gen Evo's.

Amazing car dude. If I ever get out of the GTI trend I'm going for an Audi. All the same thing basically just power differences. Thoughts of coil overs and spacers on that thing with maybe some fender flairs? That'd be nasty looking dude.

So do you plan on doing any mods that make your gain HP? its very hard to gain power from a 4.2 b7. My B5 S4 is currently undergoing an STK. Its gonna be killer.
