002 wrote It's about time, but honestly I feel like Chevy is grasping at straws now. They spent so much time knocking Ford for the aluminum truck and now they are going to aluminum. It took them so long to come out with the diesel half ton but maybe their doing their research. The Titan XD was a success but it was probably due more to the Cummins. The Ram Ecodiesel looks to be a big flop and I think that's because it's not a Cummins. Chevy decided to copy the tradition Cummins that the ram uses and make an inline 6 cylinder Dmax. Oh, and the headlights look like inverted 15-17 F=150 headlights.

Maybe it will do alright for them beings that they labeled it a Dmax however I feel like they put in a lot of pieces that they spent so much time combating from other

The only thing aluminum on the new chevy is the hood, doors and tailgate. Basically anything that moves. The bed is still a steel bed. Now yes Chevrolet was knocking down ford for the aluminum but that was because ford had a aluminum bed which I don't think will take the beating like a steel bed would.
I like the aluminum bed because it won't rust but I don't like the strength of aluminum.

In all honesty aluminum is fine for a bed. If you look at all of the newer dump trucks they all have aluminum beds, most tow trucks and service bodies are aluminum beds, aluminum does great as a bed material as long as you're not trying do drop a 30 LB spear from 10' lol.

I love the chevy trucks. Being from Alabama, I believe we are well versed on this, lol. However, I do not like the 2019 body styles of the Chevy trucks. I prefer the 2016-17 models of these trucks over the new ones. But that is just my opinion. Everything else about the truck is great though.
