Hello all. I am looking for a bit of information. I am looking to build a decent gaming PC for around $600, can go a little bit higher if needed. It doesn't have to be anything amazing, just something that will run most games at normal settings and have good quality FPS. Something fully functional to play games on. However, I have been searching around and right now most PC build guides on the internet have outdated prices since the Graphics Cards are so damn high. I do not know if you can even build a Gaming PC in this time for around $600, but I can go up to $1000 if needed. Drop any tips, builds, or anything to help me with a build I can do now. Thanks much, guys.

Do you need a monitor, mouse, or keyboard?
What games do you plan on playing?

I have a mouse and keyboard that are decent.. But you can throw out recommendations for those as well. I wouldn't mind upgrading. I do not have a monitor,
so I can take a recommendation for that as well. You do not have to include it in the price of the computer though. Just nothing too outrageous. Thanks!

NOTE: Keep in mind this is a very bare minimum build. I took into consideration that low to mid level gaming would be done and nothing more. Although the parts used in this rig are low end in terms of PC building, you will achieve playable frame rates on many games such as CS:GO, Smite, H1Z1, etc,.On the contrary, this build may struggle to run AAA titles such as The Witcher and GTA as the processor used does help carry the load it takes to run these games but not by much. You have plenty of room for upgrades and things of that nature when the time comes so no need to worry about that as well. Let me know your thoughts and feel free to ask me any further questions you may have.

Yeah GPU pricing is very inflated. I can help with that, I can get GTX 1060s at the moment for $300.

Slap that in the build below and you will have a solid machine.

The Witcher is almost entirely GPU dependent, and GTA V is demanding on both the CPU, and GPU. The rebranded RX 460 for almost $200 is definitely the Achilles' heel here, and is just pitiful. He could buy a used GTX 970, or potentially even 980 for the same price and shit all over that system.

@SHOTTYLEAN Pls stop with the 212 EVO. It's shit. Swap it for an M9i, Pure Rock(Slim), or Raijintek Aidos.

OP- First figure out your budget. $600 to $1000 is a pretty substantial jump. Either you're willing to pay $1000, or you're not. You can absolutely build a system for $600 if that's your budget, but you need to give us your maximum budget including all peripherals you require, which is just a monitor really?
You will pretty much have to buy a used GPU regardless of your budget at this point though.

Next, you need to give us some more information;
What will the system be used for exactly? What games will you be playing?
Will you overclock?
Any preferences(aesthetic, storage, etc)?

This is what I am saying. My budget is in the range of $600-1000. I can grab anything in that price range. I will use the system primarily for gaming. I plan to play Fortnite, Probably Call of Duty, PUBG, Dark Souls, titles like this. I just want to have the games that I play run smoothly. They don't have to be at MAX settings, just good quality settings. I don't really know the concept of overclocking.. (noob: first pc build). So I probably will not, unless there are substantial benefits and I could be more informed on the process of it. Also, for peripherals, I have a mouse and keyboard and mousepad that work just fine, I think. I can upgrade those later if needed. The only thing really needed is the monitor. I do not have one at the moment. And for aesthetic, I am not picky at all. I could care less what the case or the outside looks like. Just want the inside to be what it's all about. Storage is solid with 1tb. The rest is up to you.

It's not shit lmao, I nor have anyone I recommended it been over 52C on any of their cores even at 100% utilization. Cheap, reliable, and I will keep recommending it.

It is. It's ancient. Your anecdotal evidence is really quite irrelevant. I never said it wouldn't work, or would start a fire. It's shit because similarly priced, or even cheap coolers that are newer perform better, and are quieter, as well as easier to install. There's no reason to go with a 212 EVO over the likes of a Pure Rock(Slim) or Cryorig M9i, unless availability is very poor or the 212 EVO is stupid cheap. You wouldn't recommend someone buy a GTX 750Ti for the same price as a GTX 950.

OP - Since you're not overclocking, I'd avoid Ryzen, but I'd recommend waiting for H310 and B360 motherboards if you go with Intel, as that will save you $30-50 easily.

Grab a used GTX 970 or GTX 980 with this and you'll be golden, you should be right around or under $850 with the GPU. You can swap the R3 2200G for an i3-8100 if you wait for H310/B360 mobos and grab something for $50-65.

I agree with 13 I have a 212 evo in my system and while it works its stupid hard to install. That alone if i were to do it again would push me elsewhere.
