I'm bet your girl will feel so special lol

The only relationship I have ever been in (lasted about three years) the lady completely loved the $100 promise ring I got her. Some people just don't care about the expense of it. There is also the fact that I just don't want to give big money to jewelry companies that could potentially be selling blood diamonds. I understand that the world sucks and that a lot of what we have currently is made under terrible conditions (like computers and phones), but I'm not buying something that is so unneeded and pointless especially when people are being forced to mine the rocks. I have to assume that the next person I am with will feel the same way or understand where I am coming from. If not, they probably aren't the one for me. There is also the thing where I just don't really care about proposal/engagement/marriage in general among other normal traditions, but that is a whole other thing.

ive always heard people state some crap like an engagement ring should cost a months wages or some silly stuff like that. best advice id give is have a good browse around and find a few you think the other half would like , try and bring types of rings up in casual conversation etc to nail down what kind of ring shed like. but at end of day most people dont care about the cost of a ring they care about the value it means to yourselves i.e. the relationship , trust, love all that silly mushy stuff. i joke all the time with my missus about how if i ever pop the question its either gunna be a cheap supermarket ring donut or some haribo ring.

I think you should spend atleast a couple grand, cause it's a once in a lifetime opportunity.

With my ex she made it clear that if we ever were to get married that she would say no if I bought an expensive ring. She said don't spend more than $100 because that money could be better used in other placed.

Both of us are pretty financially smart and even though we were together for 6 years we never really thought about marriage. We both agreed that getting married wouldn't change anything in our relationship and it's just a social norm really since we're not religious.
