Lug wrote It's stupid and not something to joke about, but I find it funny how scared some people get over threats. Today my school got a threat at about 7:20AM (school starts at like 8:05) so by 7:30 half the PD was in my school setting up checkpoints. I ended up arriving at 7:50-ish and right when I walked in there was a detective, two other cops, and some school staff. They tried to take my damn cookies man! Like an hour later they figured out the tweet was sent from Arizona. Plot twist, it was only the abbreviation of the school name so every other school abbreviated "SHS" had their schools backpack searched. Good times. So a lot of people went home because they were, "Scared for their life's."

Had I been in that situation I would have been "Scared for my life" too. I would do almost anything to get a free day out of school. The past two days I have been out of school because of bad weather. Tuesday the weather started getting bad after lunch, all I had to do was tell the school that I did not feel safe with the bad weather and all of my absences for the rest of the day were excused.

Had I been in your situation, I would have also stayed home because I do not want to be harassed by the cops and have my bag searched. I think it is dumb that schools even have students bring bags, every thing should be stored in the class so that all a student needs to bring is a pencil (if that).

With that all being said I like the cops are trying to do something. I hope that everybody who makes these "threats" gets punished. These "threats" should not be taken lightly.

Lug wrote Threats don't really bother me as I'm always prepared. But others, I guess they look at it differently. What do you guys think about all these school shootings and all this drama going around?

My school does not get threats like yours does, and even if we did, I feel pretty safe at my school from shooters. We have multiple things in place like police and other things.

I do not believe that any one is truly and completely prepared for what they would do in these situations. I understand that you think you are going to either fight or run. But that is not really a plan, there is so much more to it than that. You could do everything right, and all the shooter has to do is get lucky shooting through a wall.

Lug wrote They should really stop trying so hard to prepare us for a school shooting, but rather preventing a school shooting. You see where I'm coming from?

You were just complaining about the police trying to prevent a mass shooting at your school? Anyways, you will never be able to prevent every school shooting. I think that all of the students should be prepared and school shootings should be prevented as much as possible. It would be great if students do not have to be prepared for school shootings, but that is not the world we live in. There is nothing wrong with being prepared.
